Productive Learning in Saxony-Anhalt
The school project Productive Learning in Saxony-Anhalt was carried out over the course of the school years 2001/03 to 2007/08. The project was sponsored by the European Social Fund.
Productive Learning in Saxony-Anhalt was initially set-up for grades 8 and 9 in seven secondary schools. At the start of the school year 2004/05 fourteen additional Productive Learning school-pilot projects were established. The IPLE monitored the school projects in terms of educational theory and methodology. The schools developed their PL concepts on the basis of the document General Concept for Productive Learning in Saxony-Anhalt.
The participating teachers trained to become Productive Learning Educators in relation to their projects. They evaluated their educational projects, and developed concepts tailored to their individual schools which contributed to the General Concept for Productive Learning in Schools in Saxony-Anhalt. Whilst doing so, the educators were supported and mentored by the IPLE and by specially trained Productive Learning project mentors. The training and mentoring tasks of the IPLE were supplemented through the specialist and organisational facilitation of regional, pan-regional and international networks of school pilot projects within the International Network of Productive Educational Projects and Schools (INEPS).
In the school year 2007/08, the school pilot projects were transformed into the special classes ‘Productive Learning in School and Vocation’.
From 2011 to 2013 educators from five Productive Learning projects in Saxony-Anhalt have been taking part in the Supervision Programme of the IPLE.
